\u00a0Dr. Henry L. Jones II<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Director of Research Development and Scientific Entrepreneurship; Adjunct Professor (Computing Sciences & Computer Engineering)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Henry Jones<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has over two decades of experience in product commercialization, development of electromechanical systems, and software architecture and design. A serial entrepreneur, his most recent company was Kopis Mobile, an Inc 500 company and the fastest growing technology company in Mississippi.\u00a0 He was the Director of the Center for Battlefield Innovation at Mississippi State University, and in that role served as the Chief Technology Officer for Mav6, a research and development services firm for the U.S. military.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jones has built new products for customers in the\u00a0financial services, electric utility, forest products, hunting, humanitarian relief, and government services markets.\u00a0 He has assembled multiple teams of experts in most types of software development including mobile, embedded, desktop and server software. Dr. Jones has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Joshua B. Hill<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Security<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Joshua Hill\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/a>is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at The University of Southern Mississippi and the founding Director of the Institute for Advanced Analytics and Security<\/a>. He teaches courses in terrorism, homeland security, and criminal justice, particularly focusing on methods and theory within each of these areas. His research interests range widely, from criminal justice to cybercrime, with a particular emphasis on the social and political implications of crime and criminal justice. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Hill previously worked for the Institute for the Study of Violent Groups as a lead analyst and was a Fellow at the University of Central Florida\u2019s Office of Global Perspectives and Metropolitan Center. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations, a Master\u2019s of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Sam Houston State University, and a PhD in Criminal Justice, also from Sam Houston State University. He is the co-author of\u00a0Homeland Security in America<\/em>\u00a0with Nancy Marion and\u00a0Introduction to Cybercrime<\/em>, as well as numerous journal articles and book chapters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James B. Wilcox<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Professor\u00a0of\u00a0Practice, School of Management<\/strong> Director, The Hatchery<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

James Wilcox<\/strong><\/a> is a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and has served as the Director of The University of Southern Mississippi\u2019s Center for Economic and Entrepreneurship Education since 2011. In addition to his statewide focus on equipping K-12 educators in the subject areas of entrepreneurship, economics, and financial literacy, he is particularly recognized for his work co-developing and championing the Southern Entrepreneurship Program (SEP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the SEP, Wilcox annually\u00a0engages 500+ Mississippi high school students\u00a0in economic and financial education through real-world business development experiences. He\u00a0holds an\u00a0M.S.\u00a0in Economic Development and a\u00a0B.S.\u00a0in International Business, both from The University of Southern Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Brent Hale<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Professor<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Brent Hale<\/strong><\/a> (PhD, Indiana University) is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies and mediated communication specialist. His research focus includes interlocutory and psychological responses to social media content through commenting, including messages related to health and politics. He has published quantitative analyses of various social media platforms, including Imgur, Reddit, and YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Katie Anthony<\/strong><\/a> is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Speech Communication. She earned both her MA and PhD from the University of Kentucky before returning to her alma mater as a faculty member. She also serves as the Graduate Director for the School of Communication.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her research interests are in Medical Decision-Making and Public Health Risk Communication.\u00a0Dr. Anthony joined the DS4D instruction team in Spring of 2021,\u00a0bringing with her expertise in public speaking, effective communication strategies, and interview skills, all essential components to the rigorous course.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
